Kaj Franck KF 106 'Usva' Vase

An 'Usva' vase in amber and clear glass, designed by Kaj Franck in 1951 for Nuutajärvi Notsjö, Finland.

Translating as “mist” or “haze”, the 'Usva' series is defined by its fluid, organic form and atmospheric use of glass. This amber version introduces a warm, luminous character, evoking the glow of a hazy sunset rather than the cooler, mist-like tones of white interior examples.

Composed of two softly joined lobes, the vase reflects, captures and refracts light as it moves through the cased structure, giving the piece a quiet sense of movement.
