Walter Bosse Lion Pretzel Holder

A whimsical brass pretzel holder in the shape of a lion. This object dates from the 1950's and was designed by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller, Austria. 

Walter Bosse is best known for his playful 'black-golden' line of patinated brass animals. Early examples, like this, are revered for their quality of design and manufacture.

The lion is one of the largest items in the range, and although originally designed to hold pretzels on his tail, he functions perfectly as a ring holder.
