A characterful brass tray in the form of a fish, designed by Walter Bosse and produced in Austria by Herta Baller c. 1950.

This collectable dish belongs to Bosse's celebrated 'black-golden' line of cast brass sculptures and home accessories in the form of stylised animals.

Designed as a useful tray, or vide-poche, the piece captures the Modernist essence of a fish through its sleek, simplified form. Despite this simplicity, Bosse conveys plenty of character: a beady eye and half-open mouth give the little fish a likeable, lighthearted personality.
