An attractive cat-themed bottle opener, designed by Walter Bosse and produced by Herta Baller, Austria, in the 1950's. 

Walter Bosse's cat designs are some of his most loved works; not only are cats wonderfully popular pets, but the sleek elegance and sophistication of the domestic cat lends itself perfectly to Bosse's distinctly Modernist style. 

This black-patinated brass cat features an arched back and slender form. The head and pointed ears are beautifully modelled, whilst the long tail extends upwards and features a polished tip. The stylish, slightly abstract cat figure has been applied to a triangular caplifter, which gives the object a helpful function around the home.
