Timo Sarpaneva Bird Bottle

A navy blue 'Lintupullo' (Bird Bottle) by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, Finland. 

This elegant carafe was designed in 1956 as part of Sarpaneva's 'i' series of fine table glassware. The series included a number of coloured pitchers and glasses.

This carafe features an organic water-droplet form and a delicately proportioned spout. A stunning piece for serving water or wine.

Iittala's famous red 'i' logo was designed by Timo Sarpaneva for the 'i' series which this carafe belongs to. The logo was later adopted by the company as their main branding, and is still in use today.
