Susan Parkinson Owl

An owl sculpture produced at Cinque Ports, Rye, using the 'Large Owl' mould designed by Susan Parkinson.

When Parkinson Pottery closed in 1961, some of Susan's moulds were purchased by George Gray at Cinque Ports with the view of continuing the production of some of her work. This monochrome owl was made during the transitional period. Cinque Ports would later experiment with Susan's designs by applying coloured glazes and different techniques.
