This unique bowl was designed by Stig Lindberg and produced in the studio of Sweden's foremost ceramics manufacturer, Gustavsberg, in 1975.

Whilst Lindberg is perhaps most famous for his brightly coloured 'Faience' pieces from the 1950's, by the late 60's his palette became increasingly earthy & organic as he drew inspiration from nature.

This unique bowl features a rich tar-like glaze, from which an underlayer of light olive green emerges in an abstract reptilair pattern. The bowl's refined form is reminiscent of Japanese ceramics, and features a slight foot & gently worked rim. Whilst the bowl seems to follow the ethos of beauty in simplicity, it retains Lindberg's enduring charm and masterly eye for detail.
