Richard Rohac Leaf Tray
A superb brass tray designed by Richard Rohac and handmade in Vienna, Austria c.1950.
Formed as a stylised leaf, this object combines an organic, fluid silhouette with rich black patination and polished brass highlights. Both sculptural and practical, it reflects the balance of elegance and function that defines Rohac's work.
This tray, or vide-poche, is a particularly accomplished example of Rohac's work: large enough to serve as a statement piece on a console or desk, it also functions beautifully as a catchall for keys, jewellery, or coins. A versatile design object that balances sculpture and everyday utility.
Richard Rohac is celebrated alongside contemporaries such as Walter Bosse and Karl Hagenauer, figures who together exemplified the refinement and inventiveness of Vienna's metalwork scene during the mid-20th century.
