A matching salt & pepper duo, designed by Gunnar Cyrén for Dansk c.1970 and produced in Denmark. 

This delightful pairing consists of a "mushroom"-shaped pepper mill and matching salt shaker, each turned from solid teak. Domed tops sit upon compact cylindrical bodies, their simple geometry creating a pleasing form that is both practical and ergonomic.

Gunnar Cyrén joined Dansk in 1970, bringing a subtly different approach to the company established around the work of Jens Quistgaard. While Quistgaard often emphasised the expressive qualities of natural materials and traditional craft, Cyrén's designs tended towards cleaner geometries and greater restraint, while retaining Dansk's characteristic emphasis on tactile, highly functional objects for everyday use.
